Godzilla vs Kong, directed by Adam Wingard has become the highest-grossing film at U.S. box office during the pandemic. THe mioovie has reportedly overtaken Christopher Nolan's, Tenet in terms of the box office numbers for a film released in a pandemic.
According to a report on Deadline, Godzilla vs Kong's Box Office earnings in the United States stand at US$ 69.5 Million, whereas Tenet box office figures, as per the very same report, ended its theatrical run at US$ 58.5 Million.
Tenet box office figures, as per the film's report on popular entertainment business analytics site, The Numbers, stand at US$ 363 Million. Godzilla vs Kong's box office Numbers, on the other hand, as per an article on Variety, stands at close to 360 Million.
As of last weekend, approximately 3,000 theaters in the U.S. have reopened. It is unclear how many of the roughly 2,000 theaters that have not reopened will be able to do so as a significant number are expected to have been forced out of business for good by the pandemic.
